The major task of ARENA is a basin wide capacity building for initiation of a database management system serving for ocean observing, modelling and prediction/forecasting system. ARENA aims at a large-scale integration  and this will be achieved through evently regional distribution of the capacities of the participating institutions and harmonisation with existing multinational programmes.
